Every Theatre tells a story.

Welcome to the historic Mercury
theatre in Auckland.

The Mercury Theatre is temporarily closed.

In May 2022, we closed the theatre to undertake a major restoration of Auckland’s oldest survivingtheatre. A building of national historic significance, we are restoring it to its former 1910 glory, while incorporating some modern-day building improvements.
We have been working withengineers, architects, consultants, heritage specialists and the music industry to develop a plan that will ensure the Mercury Theatre remains an iconic venuefor future generations.
